In the Dark All You Have Left Is ArchitectureUniversity of Michigan This short essay was inspired by the blackout of August 14, 2003, which left a large portion of the Northeast and the Great Lakes (including Canada) without electricity. The author makes the point that without power, we are forced to have a much deeper engagement with the physical reality of our built environment.
